    Foragers Feedback Requested Please ..

Scottish Borders Brewery and The Big Tree Society would like to thank you all for coming along to the Foragers Camp and contributing to a fantastic weekend. We hope you found the free course informative, interesting and fun. We also hope you would like to continue to be part of this open experiment in foraging and brewing.
We said that we would send out a small appraisal or feedback sheet for you to complete, we would very much hope that you find time to do so and return them to us at your earliest opportunity. Your feedback would really help us evaluate this first course and assess where we succeeded or perhaps didn’t reach our own expectations.
So whether you did or didn’t have previous experience in foraging or home brewing please be as constructive as possible. We would really appreciate your thoughts as it will help us build a safe and responsible approach to our rigorous quality checks that we hold in our Wild Harvest brewing philosophy and practice.

    DAY ONE

    DAY TWO

    Thanks for completing this feedback.

If you would like to be more involved, know of any others that would be, or would like to attend any other Wild Harvest events or think that we have missed anything out -  please give Eoin a call 01835 830718 or [email protected] remember to keep an eye on the Wild Harvest website www.wildharvestscotland.com

Wild Harvest Foragers Camp 1st 2nd June 2013-06-03, Ancrum, Scottish Borders

Scottish Borders Brewery, The Big Tree Society held their first foragers camp near Ancrum, Scottish Borders at the weekend. Twenty people from all over Scotland and the NE of England were selected to participate in a weekend Wild Harvest Foragers Camp.
This challenging event organised by Scottish Borders Brewery will create six new beers using plant materials collected throughout the year. This unique open experiment in brewing looks to form a committed supply chain of foragers that will supply sustainably gathered local ingredients.
The two days hosted by project partner The Big Tree Society were led by expert forager and author Miles Irving who took the participants through an intensive induction in safe plant identification, the importance of responsible collection and the possible and future potential of selected plants in beer flavourings and aromas for the Wild Harvest project.
From a textile designer to a taxi drivers and a management consultants to a midwife a very varied cross section of future foragers took part. Many of them committing to becoming part of a unique supply chain for Scottish Borders Brewery Wild Harvest products.
Thanks to Lothian Estates for giving us permission to walk through their beautiful and abundant landscape at Harestanes, near Ancrum, Jedburgh, Scottish Borders
