Hugh Fife and Woods for All have produced an updated pack Tree Identification For Everyone. Available from Reforesting Scotland or you may also like to have a look at Hugh and his teams hardworking efforts at Blarbuie Woodland Enterprise in Argyll. The Tactile Sheets contained within the pack are inspring. Really clever and thoughtful production of braille id and leaves to touch. Great for visually impaired and a great learning tool for all anyway.

Oh my God ! Take a look at these fantastic constructions made by a brilliant team that came to our first Willow Chair day of the year. They coppiced out some big willow, selected and measured, designed and built six beautiful chairs for their homes and gardens. all managed to get them into the transport home. The guys at Big Tree always look forward to this course at Wooplaw because its so free flowing, free form and just really inspiring for us to watch the shapes, and structures taking shape. This is their work ....... AWESOME !!!!!!
A couple of folks turned out for the weekend to make their very own shaving horses. These "repeat offenders" have been on previous Big Tree courses and were desperate to make their own work stations. There's no stopping them now. Off to Skye and Northumberland to share the knowledge and spread the word ! We look forward to seeing some of the great products produced off their backs !
Heres the official record of the days events with the crew form Dunbar (Lochend) Community Woods. What a weekend we had ! These horses and skills learned over the two days down at Buy Design are going to be put to great use in their woodlands over the next few years. If you are in the Dunbar area go and help them out !
Nice wee vid for you about a guy Ben, climbing trees ...simple as that really http://vimeo.com/38103421
I met a really inspirational young guy last week up at Falkland where he is building a "shed within a shed" Straight away I knew this quiet energetic man had something to share. If you are looking for a new writers shed, artists studio, garden hideaway speak to Euan. Even if you think you don't need a bothy, have a look anyway. His portfolio work is fresh, stimulating and worth a look. www.euangray.co.uk Quality portfolio book here: http://issuu.com/euangray/docs/hearths_chambers_traces/1 Some great shots of maple sap collection in the States. maybe try this for Birch sap in the Highlands ????

This is a ggod example in our opinion of how to market a greenwood product in a contemporary marketplace and a good piece on the history of the spoon. http://www.hospitalityguild.com/History/history_of_the_spoon.htm |
