SOLD Tree Rings 1807
Fallen Scottish oak tree sections approx 200mm x 140mm x 18mm to be wall hung as a triptych. Burnt, burnished and finished in acrylics and chalk.
These wall hangings are examining time - through the tree as a clock on the landscape. The dot pattern are moments in that passage of time up, through, along and out of the piece. The summer and winter growth rings are particularly apparent and the burning give the work a texture of ancient passage.
The oak was a wind blown tree grown on Lothian Estates, near Jedburgh, Scottish Borders.
